RIP Rack
RIP Rack
The Rip Rack is the definitive solution to carrying a Wald Basket via bicycle.
It was purpose built to do two things – Carry a basket, and provide a stable platform that functions just as well loaded as it does unloaded.
--------------------
The Rip Rack features custom machined hardware to secure the Wald 137, Wald 137 half, or Wald 139 Half Baskets along its three strongest rails. Mounting hardware is secured via M5 screws that thread into threaded eyelets integral to the rack platform. Our mounting hardware makes installation a breeze and requires no more than a set of allen keys and wrench. No fiddling with hose clamps or zip ties! The basket can be removed and reattached simply in under a couple minutes – making it the perfect candidate for a modular setup.
Whether you’re going on a grocery run or looking for a front bag support, The RIP Rack will get you there.
The Rip Rack is designed to mount to mid fork eyelets and at the fork crown. M5 bolts are provided for fork braze ons as well as an M6 for a fork crown pass through bolt (pass-through M6 required).
Basket hold down hardware is Black or Silver anodized 6061 aluminum.
Consider Adding a Forager Cycles “Link Wrench” to aid in install. It has every wrench size you’ll need for install. Keep it with you on every ride for any trailside maintenance you hopefully wont ever need. The Link Wrench is an 8/9/10mm wrench & emergency master link opener. Laser cut in the USA from grade 5 titanium (22g).
Dimensions:
Length: 8″
Width: 8″
Height: 5 1/4”
Weight: 770g with complete hardware, cargo legs, and diving board assembly (Basket Not Included).
Compatability:
The V3 Legs were designed to be as adjustable as possible while maintaining maximum load rating. The mid fork legs should fit most forks with standard lowrider mid fork eyelets (165mm from dropout). A compatible fork will have eyelets that fall within both of the following ranges:
Fork Crown to Eyelet – 185mm-250mm (7 3/8″ – 9 7/8″)
Dropout to Eyelet – 130mm-195mm (5 1/8″ – 7 5/8″)
Numbers are based on a straight blade fork with 400mm axle-crown measurement, 50mm rake, on a 72degree headtube while clearing a 2.2″ tire. Different forks and curve profiles may skew these numbers. Refer to the diagram in the product photos for a visual representation.
Fork crown must have an M6 pass through bolt. The rack is provided with a 50mm M6 Bolt that will work for fork crowns up to 40mm thick. A thicker crown will necessitate a longer M6 than provided to provide adequate thread engagement.
Weight Limit (on pavement) – 30lb / 13.6kg
Please note the width and height of the basket you intend to carry, Depending on bicycle and handlebar configuration, you may experience drop bar lever interference or hand clearance issues.
The RIP Rack comes with basket mounting hold downs, platform, legs, and all applicable assembly hardware up to the fork. Some fork configurations may require extra spacers and / or longer M5 bolts than provided. Baskets are sold separately.
