ALWAYS USE A SAFETY STRAP WHEN RUNNING ANY FRONT RACK

Bending Your Struts

The Spite Racks struts are mounted 3.2" (center to center spacing) in width in the Bit clamping hardware. Depending on your fork mounting eyelet's width, you'll likely need to coax the struts into the correct spacing.

When making these strut adjustments:

-Bend as little as necessary

-Bend over as large an arc as possible

-Make as few adjustments as possible

*Aluminum does not fatigue well and excessive bending can cause premature failure. It is recommended that you bend both struts at the same time to ensure they are symmetrical.

Bending in a vise is the easiest method, but ensure you have a soft substrate between the jaws and the strut to avoid marring.

Anodizing may crack/craze around a tight bend location. For black struts, a Sharpie is a good color match.

Do not bend struts while installed in the clamping hardware.

Keep bends under 35 degrees.

A 3D Printed bending die is included with your Spite Rack. To use the Bender, mount it in a vise or clamp/screw/bolt it down to a sturdy surface. Install an m5 socket head cap screw bolt into the counterbored hole to make the back stop more sturdy. Place the strut in the groove, making note of the orientation of the strut end. The flat of the strut dropout should be perpendicular to the bend axis. Then bend in one smooth and firm motion. The bender maxes out at 25 degrees.
